But the process of making PLA involves converting the corn sugars and starches into polylactic acid, an inert material with zero DNA traces remaining, GMO or otherwise. Alas, millions of acres of corn are already planted here and we think utilizing that widely available resource to produce the most food-safe option out there for tea sachets is pretty neat.
