Using automated trucks in manual storage environments can be a challenging combination, which is why some AGV automated guided vehicles projects fail. At the Coop regional warehouse in Trondheim, the warehouse employees have learned to work safely with the automated stackers, which can drive their fixed routes freely in the middle of a swarm of manual forklift trucks. It provided a unique opportunity for senior logistics managers to explore and understand the latest technologies and discuss specific issues with experts in various fields; Automation, Mobility, Lean, IoT, 5G, and Energy. The warehouse is connected to a food factory, distillery and livestock farm. The silo holds tons of crops and none of it is send to the warehouse. How come that demand does not reach the silo? Showing 1 - 13 of 13 comments. And what about electric power?

Are these buildings within reach of electricity supply? It isn't the electricity. You can't connect two warehouses a silo is the same. This you can only done with conveyours and pumps. But the Transport Ressource Management is still not implemented into th game. The information that the drain need ressources only go to the warehouse, but not from the warehouse to the silo. Remove the silo, bring the crops directly into the warehouse and your drains get her products.

Because Storage C does nothing In your case: Farm - Silo - Warehouse - Food factory Silo and Warehouse is storage. There is no ability to move crops from silo to warehouse. Last edited by Necky TriStar ; 7 Jun, am. Ok thx. I already had some truck hauling crops. But now I know for sure it the right solution.

If you would be able to draw resources through chain of warehouses it would be broken IMO. And the same applies for drawing resources. Your farm can push crops to silo but as the silo is not connected directly to food factory it cannot draw resources out of it. Even if you would a setup Farm- Silo-Factory it would be not ideal because the crops stored in export storage of the farm would be unreachable for the food factory.

The solution is simple. Use several trucks to deliver crops from the silo to food factory and use the storage to store food produced there. I do this with all my farms whatever the distance is transporting crops by trucks ore trains.

Originally posted by forzion :. If there was a consumer attached to the second receptacle a food factory it can draw from the receptacle its attached to but can't "draw through" it to get at receptacles it isn't attached to. You could always truck it out manually though. Originally posted by rkelly17 :. I've got an agro-farm--grain silo--warehouse--food factory. The problem is the factory doesn't get the crops. Is there any new solution for this, or do we still need trucks en-masse.

No, connected warehouses still don't work. As a general rule, you only want a single storage area between buildings that are also Entities those that 'do a thing' A mistake a lot of new players make is thinking of cargo distribution as a queue In WRSR goods don't "move to the front of the line", and they don't "spill over when full" Don't beat yourself up over it, it's happened to nearly all of us!

I need to take a bunch of screenshots over the weekend, but hopefully when my guide hits it'll shed a whole bunch of light on this stuff. I've spent months poking and prodding the cargo distribution system trying to understand it fully. An entity "does a thing" taking action at a target "what the thing is done to" With your build, that means the truck delivering crops can only interact with the Silo [connected by forklift road], the Agro-farm's internal storage [connected internally], and trucks in other Loading Zones [connected by being parked].

The Food Factory can only interact with its internal storage [connected internally] a truck in its Loading Zone [connected by being parked] the Warehouse [connected by forklift road], and anything connected to its other forklift road [such as a warehouse for food]. Since Silos aren't Entities For your specific build, there are two quick and easy solutions: 1 Remove the Silo and connect the Agro-Farm to the Warehouse directly.

Then the Farm will deposit into the Warehouse, the Factory will pull from the Warehouse, and all is right with the world. If 2 seems odd Here's why: The train will attach itself to the Warehouse [by parking at the train platform], which gives it access to everything attached to the warehouse On the 'Load' action, it'll take materials from what it has access to on a "Most full, first-pulled" basis Keep in mind that 'most full' is percentage, not tonnage It might occasionally deposit some back into the Silo when it's "least full" , but that should be pretty rare.

Collaborative robots, transport robots or driverless transport vehicles - the smart factory is partly a reality at Continental in Regensburg. The automotive supplier is now taking the next steps with the "Model Plant" pilot project. Physically strenuous or repetitive activities are performed by collaborative robots, also known as cobots, which transport materials to the production line: two examples that are regarded as typical characteristics of the factory of the future - but they are only the beginning.

Warehouses, defined here, are facilities that provide a proper environment for the purpose of storing goods and materials that require protection from the elements. Warehouses must be designed to accommodate the loads of the materials to be stored, the associated handling equipment, the receiving and shipping operations and associated trucking, and the needs of the operating personnel. The economics of modern commercial warehouses dictate that goods are processed in minimal turnaround time.

A warehouse is a building for storing goods. They are usually large plain buildings in industrial parks on the outskirts of cities, towns or villages.
